Freelance Graphic Designer in Hiroshima, Japan

Hi everyone! This is my first (translated) post on this blog, which I usually write in French!

This is the site I use to promote my activity as a freelance Graphic Designer under the nickname Judi DESIGN.

About me

I’ll be short but you can find a longer self introduction here.

My name is Judith and I’ve been working as a Graphic Designer since 2002. I specialize myself in print design even though I’ve been working for a while in web design.

In 2007, I decided to move to Hiroshima, Japan for one year, with a Working Holiday Visa. And, as I enjoyed my life here more than I expected, I ended up settling here.

Until last December (2018), I’ve been working for almost 6 years in a Design studio called Nininbaori as a Graphic Designer & Artistic Director, then quit in order to become a freelancer.

My fields of expertise

As I said earlier, I can do some webdesign and even used to code myself, but I enjoy print design much more!

Logo design, visual identity / branding design and packaging design are my favorite creative fields.

The industries I’m the most familiar with are Restaurant / Food and Beauty but I’m really open to any kind of project.

What is this blog going to be about?

My blog is quite new so I’m still experimenting but I’ll probably talk about the job itself, the projects I’m working on, the particularities of being a Graphic Designer in Japan, paperwork needed to be a freelance in Japan, and relationship with clients.

I’ll also try to interview some foreign Graphic Designers living in Japan.

I know my English is very bad but I try to do my best and if you’re a Graphic Designer (freelance or working in a company in Japan) and want to get in touch, don’t hesitate!

Feel free to comment, share and ask questions! And if you have some free time, take a look at my portfolio!

Thank you for reading!
