New boxes for Oliver Rich’s mini aroma oils
In 2015, the Japanese brand Oliver Rich decided to offer its 18 aroma oils in 2 ml mini bottles.
To do this, they created two boxes of nine mini oils: “Happy note” and “Healing note”.
Creation of the packaging and POS advertising for the mini oils
I was in charge of creating the design of the boxes, the bottle labels and the counter displays.
Having already worked on the visual identity of the 10 ml aroma oils, I just had to adapt the size of the labels to the new bottles.
For the boxes, the brand decided to highlight the use of natural plant extracts which is one of its main selling points. So I used the collages of fruit, plant and flower photos that we had already used in some of their communication tools.
Details and finishes for gift boxes
As the boxes are intended to be bought as gifts, we decided to make them beautiful objects. To do this, we printed some of the logo and text elements with gold foil.
“Happiness Time” mini aroma oil collection
The production of the 3 aroma oils from the “Japan series” had to be temporarily discontinued. The reason for this was that they contained plant extracts that were too expensive.
Therefore, the brand replaced them in 2017 with the 3 “Happiness Collection” oils. The fragrances of these oils correspond to 3 moments of the day: when waking up, in the afternoon and before going to bed.
Two types of counter displays
The Oliver Rich brand distributes its products in various shopping centres in Japan. And depending on the shopping centre, they don’t get the same space or placement on the shelf or rack.
So we had to design two types of two-tiered counter displays: one with a large back panel and one with a smaller panel.
